Erin is one of our newer practitioners who specializes in CranioSacral Therapy. CST can alleviate the pains associated with migraines, neck and back pain, tension-related disorders, and much more. Erin believes compassionate touch is a cornerstone to every soul’s well-being, and is happy to help address any questions or concern about massage. Let’s get to know her a little bit more!
So, how long have you lived in Virginia?
I’ve lived here for 10 months now! I moved here to be closer to my husband’s family that lives in New York, and my father who lives in Fairfax Station. We wanted our son to have a closer bond with his family, and my husband had gotten an offer to work here, so here we are!
Where are you originally from?
I was born and raised in Las Vegas and studied music education at UNLV. I had an opportunity to live in Hawaii, so I lived there for 4 ½ years. It was a wonderful experience! I also lived in New York and Colorado before moving here.
What made you want to get into Massage Therapy?
I always felt a draw to healing arts but I didn’t fully realize it as a possible profession. After experiencing a period of high stress, and an even stronger pull of healing and helping people, I realized it was my calling. I’ve been a massage therapist now for 2 years and I enjoy it completely.
Which modalities are your favorite?
Craniosacral and prenatal are two of my favorites although all modalities have their special place. Helping people feel nurtured and cared for is the most important thing to me. I believe that stress is the root of most issues, and knowing that I can help alleviate that is amazing.
Why would you say Craniosacral massage is one of your favorite modalities?
It is a very gentle, whole body treatment that works with the natural rhythms of the different body systems addressing the source of problems within. CST can produce profound results with a very light touch and is a modality that can be used on nearly every one because it is so gentle. Being able to provide the space and support for my clients to release tensions deep within is incredible.
